The Global Gothic network is a large multi-national network of academics who are interested in the gothic. Comprising of members from over 20 different countries, the website asks as a portal for the members to log in and join debates about the gothic. The site also features a innovative google maps feature that plots members by their country and the countries they are interested in.

- Using the Google Maps API to read points from a MySQL database and plot the results.
- Extensively uses the Google Maps Geocoding API to register, and enter the locations of the members.
